"Quatre has returned to his family's factory asteroid.
Here, he sees his pacifist father's civilian employees pledge their
allegiance to OZ, killing father Winner in the process. Temporarily
unhinged by this traumatic experience, Quatre digs up the blueprints
of the ancestor of all the Gundams - the never-completed, hideously
destructive Wing Gundam Zero - and begins a one-man war against OZ.
But the Wing Gundam Zero's brainwave control system turns out to
have mind-warping side-effects. Sliding into madness under the "Zero
System"'s influence, Quatre extrapolates his father's pacifism into
a mandate to punish the colonies for subscribing to OZ's militarism.
Lady Une dispatches Heero and Trowa to stop Quatre's rampage. In the
course of the battle, Trowa sacrifices himself to save Heero; Quatre
is shocked back into sanity, and returns with Heero to OZ's lunar
base."

A hideously destructive mobile suite
It has a back up system ( Zero system ) which enhances the
ability of the pilot ,but the Wing Gundam Zero's brainwave control
system turns out to have mind-warping side-effects.
It served as a replacement for the loss of Heero's Gundam Wing.
He also used it against Zechs Merquise ,carrying Epyon, in the final
episode of Gundam Wing without its zero system. Its system was
transferred to Gundam Sandrock to lead the other Gundams upon
fighting Zechs' mobile puppets. |
THE
G-PILOTS' EXPERIENCES WITH
GUNDAM ZERO :
Heero went berserk after taking control of the zero system for
the first time. This happened while he was undergoing a simulation
test inside Gundam Zero. He saw illusions which made him destroy
everyone who gets in his way. Quatre used his spiritual ability on
Heero to stop him from doing any more harm.
Duo was forced to become a test pilot of Gundam Zero by an OZ
officer to monitor the effect of the system to its pilot. He saw
horrible illusions made by the zero system while he was undergoing
the test. Luckily, Duo did not cause any severe damage.
Trowa ( still suffering from amnesia ) used the zero gundam to
go back to his colony and save Catherine and the residents of his
hometown from OZ's attack. Quatre warned him about the zero system's
effects, but fortunately, the system's effect cured him and made him
recover his memories .
Same with Wufei, the zero system's effect on him turned out
good. It actually straightened out his tormented mind and revealed
the solution to the current crisis: Both Treize and Zechs must be
eliminated for the sake of world peace.
